Throughlines
Seeing emerging themes in my body of work
Over the last month or two, I’ve been immersed in my past work, analyzing and testing images to see how resonant they still are. It feels like it’s time to start some new pieces.
Some of the struggle in choosing the next project comes from sifting randomly through all my old work without a clear visual or conceptual structure in mind. Yet, I have noticed that by following my curiosity over the years, I’ve returned to a few themes repeatedly. Integrating observations about older pieces with my current interests feels like the thing to do next. I’m still working through this.
For this week’s post, I thought I would share some examples of the throughlines I’ve been lingering on.
